1 cup Sona masuri rice

2 pieces Carrots

15 pieces Green Beans

2 pieces Potato

5 cups Water

quarter teaspoon Turmeric powder

1 teaspoon Oil

2 tbsp Ghee

2 tbsp Cashew Nuts

2 tbsp Peanuts

1 teaspoon Mustard seeds

3 pieces Green Chilies

10 pieces Curry leaves

quarter teaspoon Asafoetida

1 Serving Tomato

0.33 cup Green peas

0 Serving Salt

1 Serving Capsicum

2 tbsp Tamarind

2 tbsp Jaggery

Water as per needed

4 tbsp Bisi bele bath powder

Coriander as per needed

Tips

Adjust the consistency of Bisi Bele Bath by adding more hot water if it thickens too much.

Serve hot with a side of Khara Boondi or Cucumber Raita for added texture and flavor.

Directions

Wash Toor Dal and Rice until water runs clear. Drain and transfer to a pressure cooker.

Add diced vegetables, Water, Turmeric Powder, and Oil. Pressure cook for 4 whistles on medium-high flame. Let it depressurize naturally.

Heat Ghee in a large stock pot.

Fry Cashew Nuts and Peanuts until golden. Set aside.

Add Mustard Seeds, Red Chilies, Curry Leaves, and Asafoetida to the hot Ghee. Stir until Mustard Seeds crackle.

Add diced Tomato, Green Peas, and Salt to the pot. Cook until the Tomato turns mushy.

Add diced Capsicum and cook for a minute.

Strain Tamarind water into the pot, add Jaggery, and cook briefly.

Add the cooked Rice and Dal mixture, along with hot water. Stir well and keep the consistency slightly watery.

Dissolve Bisi Bele Bath Powder in some water and add it to the pot. Stir well, adjust Salt, and cook until the desired consistency is achieved.

Garnish with fried nuts and Fresh Coriander.
