Ingredients
2
1 tablespoon Oil
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
quarter teaspoon Hing
6 pieces Curry leaves
200 grams Cauliflower Florets
1 piece Tomato
1 teaspoon Red chili powder
1 teaspoon Garam masala or goda masala
Hot water as per needed
Fresh coconut as per choice
Fresh coriander as per choice
Salt as per taste
Tips
Soaking cauliflower in salted hot water helps remove dirt and pesticides, making it safer to consume.
For added flavor, sprinkle a little lemon juice before serving.
You can replace garam masala with goda masala for a slightly different taste.
If you prefer a spicier sabji, increase the quantity of red chili powder.
Directions
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and hing to the hot oil. Sauté for a few seconds until the seeds start to crackle.
Add the curry leaves and chopped onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is golden brown.
Add salt to taste and continue to cook until the tomatoes become mushy.
In the meantime, soak the cauliflower florets in hot salt water to remove impurities.
Add the cauliflower florets to the pan. Sauté for a few minutes.
Stir in the red chili powder and garam masala (or goda masala). Add a splash of hot water, cover, and cook until the cauliflower is tender.
Garnish with fresh coconut and coriander before serving.
Notes
Individuals allergic to cauliflower, coconut, or spices should avoid this dish.
Those with gastrointestinal sensitivity to spicy foods might want to reduce the red chili content.
