Ingredients
2
half cup Yogurt
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
1 tablespoon Ginger - garlic paste
1 tablespoon Tandoori Masala
half teaspoon Red chili powder
half teaspoon Turmeric Powder
half teaspoon Garam Masala
half teaspoon Cumin Powder
1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
half teaspoon Salt
200 grams Chicken breast, cut into strips
2 pieces Croissants
Tips
Use whole wheat croissants or low-fat yogurt to cut down on the calories and fats.
This dish pairs well with a refreshing cucumber raita or a side of mixed greens for a balanced meal.
Substitute the chicken with tofu or paneer for a plant-based option.
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, tandoori masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, and vegetable oil. Stir well to form a smooth marinade.
Add the chicken strips to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. For best results, marinate the chicken overnight in the fridge to enhance the flavors.
Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until it’s fully cooked and has a nice char on the edges. Remove from heat and set aside.
While the chicken is cooking, cut the croissants in half horizontally to create a sandwich base. You can lightly toast the croissants in a pan or oven if you prefer a crispy texture.
Place the cooked tandoori chicken inside each croissant, layering it generously. Garnish with fresh cilantro and optional red onion slices for added crunch and flavor.
Serve the Chicken Tandoori Croissant hot, accompanied by a side of your favorite chutney or salad.
