Salt as per taste
half gram Black pepper
100 grams All Purpose Flour
2 pieces Eggs
150 grams Panko Breadcrumbs
200 ml Vegetable oil
30 grams Tonkatsu Sauce
Tips
Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to avoid greasy chicken.
Bake instead of frying for a lower-fat version.
Homemade sauce can be made using ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and a bit of sugar.
You have gluten intolerance (use gluten-free breadcrumbs) or are on a low-fat diet.
Directions
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1.5 cm.Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Place the flour in a shallow dish.
Beat the eggs in another shallow dish.
Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
Dip into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off.
Coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking (about 175°C).
Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil.
Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
Slice the chicken into strips.
Serve with tonkatsu sauce drizzled on top or on the side.
