200 grams Bottle gourd

1 tablespoon Oil

quarter teaspoon Hing

1 teaspoon Cumin seeds

1 teaspoon Mustard seeds

1 tablespoon Garlic

2 pieces Green chillies

1 piece Tomato

Salt as per taste

half teaspoon Turmeric powder

half teaspoon Black pepper

1 teaspoon Garam masala

2 cups Water

Fresh coconut as per choice

Coriander as per choice

Directions

Soak 0.5 cup green moong dal in water for 1 hour. Chop 200 g bottle gourd into small pieces.

In a pressure cooker, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium heat.

Add 0.25 tsp hing, 1 tsp cumin seeds, and 1 tsp mustard seeds. Sauté until the mustard seeds start to crackle.

Add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and 2 chopped green chillies. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add 1 chopped tomato and salt. Sauté until the tomato softens and blends into the mixture.

Stir in 0.5 tsp turmeric powder and 0.5 tsp black pepper.

Add the soaked green moong dal and chopped bottle gourd. Mix well.

Sprinkle 1 tsp garam masala over the mixture. Pour in 2 cups water and stir.

Cover the pressure cooker and cook on high heat for about 3 whistles. Reduce heat to low and cook for another 5 minutes.

Release pressure, open the lid, and garnish with fresh coconut and coriander. Serve hot.
